Floyd Mayweather announces Andre Berto as his Las Vegas opponent

Floyd Mayweather has revealed that Andre Berto will be his 49th opponent when the champion returns to the ring on September 12.
The clash at the MGM Grand Garden Arena sees Mayweather go into the bout unbeaten as he edges closer to the milestone of going 50 fights without defeat.
Mayweather's last faced Manny Pacquiao in May, in a clash that was billed as the 'fight of the century' and saw him walk away with his 48th victory following a points decision.

NICKNAME: The Beast
RECORD
Total fights: 33
Wins 30: (23 by KO)
Losses: 3
STANCE: Orthodox
HEIGHT: 1.74m

He is the WBA welterweight interim champion but has lost three of his last six fights.
He held a 27-0 record until being beaten by Victor Ortiz in 2011.
After announcing the fight with Berto on social media, Mayweather tweeted: 'Come be part of the history. Book your hotel and flights now.'
Berto had been favourite to be announced for the Las Vegas on September 12, courting criticism over the quality of Mayweather's opponent who has a 3-3 record over his last six fights.
Mayweather is aiming to try to match Rocky Marciano's undefeated record in September and would be the overwhelming favourite to beat 31-year-old the Haitian-American.
Yet Mayweather seems unlikely to become complacent with his preparations in spite of the fact that many believe he should be fighting stronger candidate Amir Khan instead of the former welterweight world champion whose career appears to be in decline.
Englishman Khan, who has a record of 31-3, including 19 knockouts, with consecutive wins over former world champions Devon Alexander and Chris Algieri, was rejected by Mayweather again this time around, after he did so last year before choosing Marcos Maidana.
Mayweather, who took home £141m ($220m) after the Pacquiao bout, apparently removed Khan from his consideration because the Bolton-born man persistently criticised Mayweather after being asked to stay silent.
